Newcastle United defeated Fulham 2-1 on Wednesday night to progress to the semi-finals of the League Cup.
The St James’ Park encounter looked to be heading for penalties after Sasa Lukic cancelled out Yoane Wissa’s opening goal.
However, Lewis Miley popped up with a stoppage-time winner to seal a place in the final four.
The victory was marred by an injury to Tino Livramento, who was forced to leave the pitch late in the game.
It appeared to be another knee issue, with manager Eddie Howe replacing him with Alex Murphy in the 76th minute.
Howe said: “It doesn’t look good. The fact that he came off is a worrying sign. We’re so stretched in that area that it would be a huge blow.”
Livramento has already missed eight weeks of action this season due to a knee ligament injury.
He returned to the team at the beginning of November, starting the last eight matches across all competitions. Henow faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Newcastle already have plenty of injury issues, with Dan Burn, Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman and William Osula all sidelined.
Livramento’s injury means Howe will have no choice but to use Murphy at left-back, with Miley playing on the right.
Newcastle will welcome Chelsea to St James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
