Eddie Howe has once again underlined his dedication to Newcastle United following renewed speculation linking him with Manchester United. Questions over Ruben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford have inevitably sparked debate about possible successors, with Howe’s name regularly in the conversation.
When asked about his position at St James’ Park, Howe was emphatic: “My commitment here is I’m all in. I’m 100 per cent here, I always have been. My family are still here, we’re fighting every day to try to make a success of what we’re doing.
“The season ahead could be a wonderful thing and that’s really what I want to focus on, trying to make a success of the games we have coming up.”
His response mirrors the stance he took when Gareth Southgate left the England role and whispers emerged about Howe being a potential candidate.

Since taking over from Steve Bruce in November 2021, weeks after Amanda Staveley’s consortium completed the club’s takeover, Eddie Howe has engineered a transformation at Newcastle United. When he arrived, the Magpies were facing the threat of relegation, yet he stabilised the side and laid the foundations for long-term growth.
Backed by investment from the Saudi-led ownership group, Howe has blended shrewd coaching with a recruitment strategy designed to elevate Newcastle into the elite. The result has been steady progress on both domestic and European fronts.
Howe’s tenure has already delivered milestones that Newcastle fans had long yearned for. The club returned to the Champions League within two years of his arrival, competing for the second time in three seasons. More significantly, in March, Newcastle ended their 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy as Howe guided them to Carabao Cup triumph.
That success has bolstered Howe’s reputation as one of the Premier League’s most effective managers, while also reinforcing why his name often surfaces whenever discussions about Manchester United’s managerial future arise.
For now, Howe’s stance is crystal clear. His words and body language both suggest a manager determined to continue building Newcastle United into a force capable of competing consistently with the likes of Man United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
With Champions League football secured once again and the momentum of silverware behind them, Newcastle fans will take comfort in their manager’s commitment. The challenges ahead are significant, but Howe’s leadership has already reshaped the trajectory of the club, and his focus remains fixed firmly on Tyneside.
