Eibar to honour Mikel Oyarzabal and Jon Gorrotxategi after Copa del Rey win | OneFootball

Eibar will finally honour Mikel Oyarzabal and Jon Gorrotxategi this Friday, 22 May, at 19:00. The tribute follows their Copa del Rey triumph with Real Sociedad in the final played on 18 April.

According to Diario Vasco, the city plans a shared celebration recognising their sporting success, their ties to Eibar and the pride they inspire.

The programme starts with a civic welcome in the town hall square. Oyarzabal and Gorrotxategi will then enter the building with mayor Jon Iraola for the official reception.

Afterwards they will step onto the balcony to greet residents gathered below, a symbolic gesture of closeness and collective celebration.

City hall has underlined not only the trophy but the pair’s effort, commitment and careers, as well as their consistent affection for their hometown.

Iraola has encouraged the public to attend, saying Eibar stands by its own at big moments and that Friday offers a day to remember. He also called them excellent ambassadors who carry the city with pride. The event will be a time for emotion, thanks and shared pride.
