Eintracht’s two Hugos were involved in parts of first-team training on Tuesday, but two others trained away from the squad as preparations for the clash with Bremen got under way.
Brown leaves were whirling across the training pitch next to the winter sports hall at Deutsche Bank Park on Tuesday, but 20 Eintracht players braved the blustery conditions to begin their preparations for Saturday’s primetime Bundesliga clash with SV Werder Bremen. One or two players are still unavailable as the latest international break draws to a close, but Hugo Ekitiké and Hugo Larsson – both of whom were carrying minor injuries at the start of the international window – were involved in parts of the session.
Arthur Theate and Rasmus Kristensen trained on their own on Tuesday morning, while Aurèle Amenda is following a recovery programme after suffering a syndesmosis injury on his senior Switzerland debut. Ellyes Skhiri is also recovering after representing Tunisia over the past few days, and Krisztián Lisztes was absent due to illness.
As for Robin Koch, Nathaniel Brown, Nnamdi Collins, Farès Chaibi, Ansgar Knauff, Noah Fenyö, Omar Marmoush and Igor Matanovic, they are either still on international duty or making their way back to Frankfurt.
The Eintracht squad is growing day by day as the players return to the ProfiCamp next to Deutsche Bank Park. Dino Toppmöller’s side will train every day until Saturday, when the Eagles host Bremen under the lights at 18:30 CET.
