Leeds United’s summer clear-out could claim another player, with La Liga side Elche identifying Mateo Joseph as a late-window target, according to El Gol Digital. The report says manager Martin Anselmi faces a difficult pre-season without signings and fans are increasingly vocal.

Joseph, 22, featured in Spain last season on loan at RCD Mallorca. His campaign was curtailed in April by a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.

With Elland Road trimming fringe players and wages, he could become the next to be swept up in the exodus.

Leeds retain firm control over his short-term future, as the striker is under contract at Elland Road until June 2028.

For now, Joseph is focused on rehabilitation with Leeds’ medical staff at Thorp Arch.
