Elland Road’s redevelopment is accelerating, with major works on the West and North Stands beginning to reshape Leeds United’s home. The expansion will increase capacity from 37,645 to 53,000. Work officially began last month after the season ended.

The club said the project, expected to be completed in 2030, marks a 'momentous moment' in Leeds United history.

Works include removal of the Banqueting Suite and demolition of the ticket office. The external structure outside the West Stand is being demolished, and floodlights behind the stand have also come down.

Work on the West Stand is expected to be completed in 2028, with capacity rising from 8,000 to 17,750.

The North Stand expansion is set to take a further two years, increasing from a maximum of 10,414 to 15,300. A temporary structure behind it, set to host corporate facilities during the build, is now taking shape.

Upgrades inside the ground are under way, and work on the pitch and dugouts will be finished in time for next season.

Leeds United are next expected to play at Elland Road in a pre-season friendly against RB Leipzig on the weekend of August 8/9.
