Elland Road is expected to host a Leeds United pre-season friendly against RB Leipzig on the weekend of eight and nine August, a few days before a Manchester United meeting in Dublin.

Leeds Live first reported the plan for German opposition after a planned Manchester United friendly was postponed. The fixture is understood to have been in the pipeline for months, with details now being finalised.

Daniel Farke’s side are then due to face Manchester United at Croke Park on Wednesday, 12 August, with kick-off at 7.30pm.

RB Leipzig’s majority owners, Red Bull, have held a minority stake in Leeds since the start of the 2024/25 season, when Farke’s team won the Championship title. The Austrian company has also been the front-of-shirt sponsor for two years.

Leeds’ pre-season is taking shape, with those quickfire games scheduled less than two weeks before the 2026/27 Premier League begins on the weekend of 22/23 August. They also follow a first visit to the USA for 29 years.

The summer tour includes Wrexham in Tampa on 25 July, Sunderland in New Jersey on 30 July and Liverpool in Chicago on two August.

After returning to Yorkshire there will be further training and a final run of friendlies, then roughly 10 days clear before the second Premier League campaign under Farke kicks off.
