Endrick says he watched many Lyon matches before joining on loan | OneFootball

Endrick says he began following Paulo Fonseca’s Lyon closely from late October, once he realised a loan move was very likely.

“When I knew I was certainly going to sign, I watched quite a few Europa League and Ligue 1 matches,” he said. “So I already knew a bit about the team and the players. I did not arrive here without knowing anyone. I really watched a lot of Lyon matches, and very good matches!” He was speaking to L'Équipe.

The Real Madrid forward’s loan to Lyon took months to take shape. The club had pursued the 19-year-old since the end of the summer window in September.

He made his choice around that time, even though the two clubs had not yet reached agreement.

That groundwork has probably helped him settle quickly since arriving in early January.
