Marcus Rashford fails to impress Thomas Tuchel

Marcus Rashford had an opportunity to impress England manager Thomas Tuchel against the 174th-ranked team in the world.

But he failed to make an impact in the game and was substituted in the second half.

Rashford had 44 touches during the 68 minutes he was on the pitch, but lost possession on 13 occasions and won just three of his seven duels.

The 27-year-old also missed a golden scoring opportunity in the 49th minute when he had plenty of time to execute his finish.

Elliot Anderson’s dream debut

Elliot Anderson enjoyed a breakout campaign for Nottingham Forest last season, and he has also made a strong start this term.

The reward was his first senior call-up to the national side and subsequent debut against Andorra.

Anderson justified Tuchel’s faith in him, as he had the joint second-highest number of touches (127) of any England player.

The former Chelsea boss called him ‘a very, very good football player’ and suggested he will start against Serbia on Tuesday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future in jeopardy after Reece James’ superb display

Reece James was one of the standout performers for England.

The Chelsea star assisted Declan Rice’s second-half goal and completed 91 percent of his passes.

If James stays fit, Trent Alexander-Arnold may find it hard to break into Tuchel’s team.

The 25-year-old was omitted from the squad for the two World Cup qualifiers following his summer move from Liverpool to Real Madrid.
