Kyle Walker retires from international football

England: Kyle Walker calls it quits (Official)
It's over for Kyle Walker with the England squad, just three months ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The former right-back for Manchester City and AC Milan, Kyle Walker, has decided to hang up his boots on the international stage. The Burnley player boasts 95 caps and one goal for England's Three Lions. No longer part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the 2026 World Cup, Walker has chosen to end his international career.
For the record, Kyle Walker had not been called up since June 2025, following a friendly defeat to Senegal.
"After more than a decade representing my country, I have decided to retire from international football. Playing for England has always been the greatest honour of my career and something I will always be proud of. I thank all my teammates, coaches, managers, the 12th man, and everyone behind the scenes who was part of this journey. Every roar from the supporters drove the team forward, and I can't wait to join them in supporting the boys at the World Cup. The memories I've made in the England shirt will forever be etched in my mind," said the Englishman on his Instagram account.
