The arrival of Anthony Gordon has added another attacking option to Hansi Flick’s squad, but it has not changed Marcus Rashford’s thinking about his future.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the England international remains fully focused on continuing at Barcelona and is unwilling to give up on that objective, despite growing uncertainty surrounding his place in the club’s long-term plans.

While speculation continues regarding Barcelona’s attacking depth for next season, Rashford is understood to be waiting for a definitive answer from the club before making any decisions about his future.

Committed to Barcelona

Barcelona’s summer business has inevitably created questions over the future of several attacking players, particularly after the arrival of Gordon.

However, Rashford has not interpreted the signing as a signal that his time at the club is over.

The forward believes his situation remains open because Barcelona have not formally informed him that he is no longer part of their plans. 

As a result, he continues to hold onto the possibility of remaining at the club beyond this summer.

Furthermore, despite attracting interest elsewhere following a positive campaign, Rashford is not actively considering alternative destinations at this stage.

He wants Barcelona… Period!

The attacker is said to have thoroughly enjoyed his experience in Barcelona’s dressing room and has developed a strong relationship with Hansi Flick and his coaching staff. 

The environment at the club, combined with the football being played under the German manager, has reinforced his desire to stay.

Speaking of Flick, the German’s position is another important aspect in this development.

Rashford is encouraged by conversations held with the coach, who expressed satisfaction with his performances and openness to keeping him at the club. 

The main obstacle remains Barcelona’s financial situation, with the club still needing to manage spending decisions.

With a €30 million purchase option and the possibility of a three-year contract, Rashford’s future remains unresolved, but his position has not changed.
