Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has broken his silence on Chelsea’s attempts to sign Mike Maignan and his current goalkeepers.

Blues boss Enzo Maresca has already given his thoughts about new signings Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sarr who all join his squad out in America for the Club World Cup this summer.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea add two NEW strikers to their shortlist as well as Hugo Ekitike!

And it looks like Chelsea are still trying to add another new defender to the ranks as well, with an apparent offer being rejected for a Serie A star this week and other such links that have come up in recent weeks.

There will be plenty more incomings and outgoings at Chelsea during the long summer transfer window that will reopen tomorrow morning on the day Chelsea play their first Club World Cup game of the tournament that kicked off in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Maresca in the USA

The Blues boss has been speaking to the media over night after arriving in the USA to partake in the Club World Cup this summer.

Chelsea play their first game tonight against Los Angeles FC in the 8pm kick off UK time, and they then face a gruelling post-season schedule.

He was asked about the transfer pursuit of Mike Maignan and the current goalkeeper situation, and as expected, he gave very little away with a smart and diplomatic response.

In quotes picked up on X, Maresca said:

“The situation about the keepers is quite simple. Robert Sanchez is number one. Filip Jorgensen is number two. And we will analyse and judge Mike Penders. Then we will take a final decision. [Mike] Maignan is with another club.”
