Ahead of tomorrow's Carabao Cup clash between Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Italian manager Enzo Maresca was asked about the fitness and return of 22-year-old striker Liam Delap ahead of tomorrow's crucial match.

Maresca said.

A cautious approach is being adopted by manager Maresca regarding the reintegration of Liam Delap, with the threat of a recurring injury outweighing immediate attacking needs within the squad.

The young forward's current spell on the sidelines stems from an unfortunate early exit in the clash against Fulham on August 30th, where he was forced off the pitch after just 14 minutes, later diagnosed with a hamstring issue. Thus far, his season has been one of quiet contribution, having taken part in three fixtures without yet managing to mark the scoresheet with a goal or an assist.
