Enzo Maresca has stated Marc Cucurella is okay and should be able to feature in Sunday’s game away at Manchester City.
Cucurella missed the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night after asking to be taken off in the defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
It was thought Cucurella had a potential hamstring injury, and with Jorrel Hato also missing through injury, Malo Gusto started at left back.
In Cucurella’s absence Chelsea failed to win and dropped yet more points in the race for Champions League football.
Chelsea conceded two goals from long throw ins, and defensively looked all over the place as Bournemouth caused all sorts of problems, especially in the first half.

The Blues suffered another blow with Moises Caicedo picking up a yellow card, which rules him out of the game against City.
However, there was some positive news, and Maresca confirmed Cucurella is okay and will hopefully feature against City.
“Marc Cucurella is okay, hopefully he can be available for Man City game,” he said as quoted on X.com.
The Spain international has established himself as one of Chelsea’s most important players, and has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
Whilst Cucurella missed the game, Cole Palmer started once again, and scored Chelsea’s first goal from the penalty spot.
But with the game finely balanced at 2-2 in the second half Palmer was taken off, a decision which was booed by Chelsea supporters.

It’s understandable Maresca is trying to protect Palmer, but after saying he’s ready to play 90 minutes before the Villa game, to then take him off in both subsequent games you can understand the frustration.
Palmer returns to City on Sunday, and Chelsea will need him to be at his best if they are to have any chance of getting a positive result.
