Bild reports that Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia is Bayer Leverkusen’s number one target as they look for a new goalkeeper in the summer.
With Lukas Hradecky regressing from last season’s form and expected to be number two to a new goalkeeper, as well as Matej Kovar expected to leave in the summer, Leverkusen will need a new number one in the position. Espanyol’s Garcia is Leverkusen’s preferred target.
Leverkusen are a tempting prospect for the 23-year-old as he will be given the chance to work under Xabi Alonso and on top of this being given the opportunity to play Champions League football. Garcia is expected to cost €15-20m, with the only potential issue being that Arsenal have previously been linked to the goalkeeper as a backup option to David Raya.
Die Werkself are not going to stop there when it comes to shaking up their squad in the summer. At centre-back, Malick Thiaw is a candidate to replace the outgoing Jonathan Tah, while Lugano defender Albian Hajdari is seen as the player who could replace Piero Hincapié.
