The Giallorossi have hit problems recently, losing two of their last four Serie A games against Inter and Milan.

Their situation is more serious in Europe, suffering shock home defeats to Lille and Viktoria Plzen after wasting numerous scoring opportunities, so this becomes a very important match.

Paulo Dybala has been ruled out for several weeks after sustaining an injury when seeing his penalty saved by Milan’s Mike Maignan at the weekend.

Angelino, Evan Ferguson and Leon Bailey are also on the absentee list, while Tommaso Baldanzi is ineligible.

It means Dovbyk is given a rare opportunity to lead the line, with support from Soulé and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

At least Roma are joint second in the Serie A table, whereas Rangers are in a general crisis and lost all three of their Europa League matches.

They have started to turn things around domestically following the arrival of new coach Danny Röhl on October 20, with back-to-back wins over Kilmarnock and Hibernian, losing the Scottish League Cup semi-final against Celtic in extra time on Sunday when down to 10 men.

Rabbi Matondo, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell are out injured.
