Footage shared on social media shows Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis involved in an altercation in the stands at a basketball game on Sunday night.
The Greek businessman, who also owns Olympiacos, was at the EuroLeague final in Athens, where Olympiacos beat Real Madrid 92-85. According to Nottingham Post, clips from the arena show him in a heated exchange across a security barrier.
In the videos, he appears to argue with someone on the other side. A spokesperson for Mr Marinakis declined to comment.
It is understood the confrontation was with Grigoris Dimitriadis, a former close adviser to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The footage shows the Forest owner with a black eye and a ripped T-shirt.
Marinakis took over Forest in May 2017, and the club won promotion to the Premier League in 2022. Next season will be their fifth successive campaign back in the top flight.
On Sunday, the Reds signed off with a 1-1 home draw against Bournemouth. Safety had been clinched with two games to spare, and they finished 16th.
Vitor Pereira became the club’s fourth head coach of the season when appointed in February, guiding a turnaround that averted relegation and took Forest to the Europa League semi-finals.
He is in talks over a new contract as plans form for 2026/27. Forest will aim to avoid another relegation fight and hope to challenge for Europe again.
