Evangelos Marinakis has told Nottingham Forest supporters his ambition and long-term objectives remain intact as the club tries to pull clear of the relegation fight.

Forest begin 2026 four points above the Premier League’s bottom three after three straight defeats, the latest a 2-0 home loss to Everton on Tuesday that drew boos at full time. In a New Year message posted by the club, the owner urged unity and resilience and said difficult moments would not derail their plans.

There was a call for reflection on rapid progress made in a short period and an assertion that expectations are rightly high among both the hierarchy and a new generation of fans. Emphasis fell on sustained progress, hard work and collective responsibility, with togetherness presented as Forest’s enduring strength.

Season’s greetings were extended to the Forest community, alongside praise for expanded charitable work that supported thousands who turn to the club in times of need. The mantra that the community is the club, and the club is the community, was restated.

Twelve months ago Forest were operating at the opposite end of the table and they went on to secure European football for the first time in three decades. This campaign has unfolded very differently, with Sean Dyche becoming the club’s third manager of the year in October. The focus now is the future and a belief that Forest can emerge stronger.
