Manchester United target Liam Delap is also of interest to Everton this summer.

They have been linked to numerous names lately such as Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Osimhen.

Nonetheless, one of the most discussed stars in the British media is Ipswich Town striker Delap as he has a £30 million release clause should the Tractor Boys be relegated.

It has been suggested that he is United’s first choice striker but there has also been confusion as reports have suggested he may prefer a move to Arsenal or Chelsea as he eyes a senior England call-up.

According to goal.com, United have further competition for the exciting youngster’s signature as “Everton are now entering the fray to secure his services.”

Everton coach David Moyes “is keen on refreshing a front line that has struggled for fitness and goals over the past few seasons.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has faded away recently and the Toffees will be keen to replace the England international.

“It is believed Moyes will be allowed the funds to secure a player of Delap’s price tag” and Everton could offer the striker a clearer route to first team football than either Arsenal or Chelsea.

Delap has been in outstanding form this season, bagging 12 goals in the Premier League, significantly more than any United player, with Bruno Fernandes scoring eight as United’s top scorer in the competition.

United will be hopeful that they can win the Europa League to offer Champions League football to the English starlet and help sway him towards Old Trafford.

In addition, the Red Devils’ technical director Jason Wilcox knows Delap well from their time at Manchester City’s academy and United will hope this can give them a significant boost in negotiations with the player.
