Andrey Santos put in the best performance of his Chelsea career in the win against Burnley and was rightly named man of the match.

The Brazilian was handed just his third league start of the season, but was outstanding as Chelsea moved second with a 2-0 win.

Santos was brilliant, especially off the ball as he made a number of crucial blocks and interceptions throughout the 90 minutes.

Pedro was full of praise for Santos at full time, and it was a real bonus for Chelsea to be able to give Caicedo the afternoon off.

With Barcelona and Arsenal coming up at Stamford Bridge next week, Santos will be hoping for further opportunities in arguably the two biggest games so far this season.

Santos has previously spoken on how he’s been learning from Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, but he revealed a third Blue he’s learning from.

“Every day I learn something from Moises, Enzo and Romeo Lavia,” he told Chelsea’s official website.

“Our team is like a family and we help each other every day, and I’m so happy to play with all of them.”

Romeo Lavia still injured

Chelsea have got a brilliant set of midfield options and top players for Santos to learn from, but unfortunately for Lavia he’s been plagued by injury issues.

The Belgian has made just 30 appearances for the Blues since arriving in 2023, and is currently expected to be out for at least a month after picking up a quad injury against Qarabag.

Lavia has so much quality as he’s shown when he has been on the pitch, but Chelsea are still yet to find the solution to keeping him fit for a sustained period of time.
