Everything you need to know ahead of our League Cup quarter-final showdown with West Ham.

When and Where

City travel to the Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday 21 December.

Kick-off is set for 13:00 (UK) with comprehensive coverage available on both the official Man City app and over on X: @ManCityWomen.

Opposition Manager - Rehanne Skinner

A hugely respected figure in the game, Rehanne Skinner is now in her third full season at the Hammers after taking charge in July 2023.

After finishing second bottom in her first campaign, the Hammers were well clear of relegation last season and also reached a League Cup semi-final before losing out to eventual winners Chelsea.

Before her time at West Ham, Skinner spent just under three years at Tottenham Hotspur, guiding them to their highest ever WSL finish in 2021/22.

Ones to watch

Shekeira Martinez remains the Hammers’ key attacking threat this season, scoring a third of their WSL goals so far in 2025/26.

A powerful, energetic forward, the Germany international enjoyed a phenomenal start to life in London with nine goals in 11 matches after a January move from Eintracht Frankfurt, which propelled West Ham to safety.

Elsewhere, Riko Ueki’s clever movement and link play causes plenty of problems at the sharp end, with the composure and technical quality of captain Katrina Gorry a crucial element in the Hammers’ build-up play.

Previous Meeting

Aoba Fujino’s first half strike was enough to earn City a 1-0 victory at the Joie Stadium in November 2025.

It was the Blues’ first clean sheet of the campaign, and our sixth successive WSL victory in the WSL, which we’ve since gone on to extend to ten.

Our last visit to the Chigwell Construction Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw, with Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s effort cancelled out by a late Manuela Pavi equaliser.

Last Time Out

City cruised to a 6-1 win over Aston Villa at the Joie Stadium to ensure we ended 2025 with a six-point cushion at the WSL summit.

Bunny Shaw grabbed four of those goals, which saw her become the first player in our history to score 100 times for the Club.

And further strikes from Aoba Fujino and Vivianne Miedema added further gloss to an incredible score-line, with Lucy Parker grabbing a consolation for the Villans.
