Antonio Cassano maintains that Inter Milan have been the strongest team in Serie A over the past five years.
During the latest episode of Viva Futbol via FCInterNews, Cassano addressed Antonio Conte’s recent statement.
Conte lashed out at AC Milan, Inter, and Juventus for their lavish spending in recent years after Napoli’s win over Cremonese last weekend.
Indeed, the former Nerazzurri manager compared the trio’s financial muscle to Napoli’s more modest means.
Furthermore, argued that the Partenopei operate on an entirely different economic level.
Meanwhile, Inter coach Cristian Chivu refused to comment on Conte’s words during his latest press conference.
Reluctant to enter another war of words with Conte, Chivu insisted he doesn’t care about his Napoli counterpart’s opinion.
On the other hand, Inter consolidated their place at the top of the Serie A table with a narrow 1-0 win at Atalanta on Sunday.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri will finish the calendar year as the league leaders, boasting a two-point lead over third-placed Napoli.

Reflecting on Conte’s post-Cremonese remarks, Cassano said: “Inter have been by far the strongest team in Italy for five years.
“Is this something Conte just made up? Milan have an important status.
“However, they chose the wrong coaches and players, who made a mess of things. Juventus have spent truckloads of money.
“That’s the reality; Conte simply said it. Inter are still the best, it’s just that Napoli have the strongest coach.”
Despite Conte’s constant moaning, Napoli remain firmly in the race for their third Scudetto in four years.
However, it feels like this is Inter’s title to lose, even though they took a leap of faith when they hired Chivu in June.
