Brazil’s women prepare to face the United States in two friendlies this window, part of the 2027 World Cup cycle on home soil. Arthur Elias has called up ex-Corinthians goalkeeper Kemelli, who played from 2021 to 2025 and won seven trophies.
“Lelê has helped me improve for many years. She has always been an example for our generation, both with her footwork and her winning mentality, because it seems nothing rattles her in a game,” she told CBFTV.
Elias also selected Lorena and Lelê, with whom the 27-year-old shared duties at Corinthians. Also named were Corinthians duo Thaís Ferreira and Duda Sampaio. The games are on six and nine June, first at Neo Química Arena at 18:30, then Arena Castelão at 21:30.
Kemelli joined Corinthians from Internacional in 2021, stepping into the spot vacated when Lelê left for Benfica. She played 29 times in her first season.
In 2022 she ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee and missed the season. That year Lelê returned to the club.
After recovering, she was loaned to Cruzeiro in 2023, then recalled in the second half by Lucas Piccinato as back-up.
In 2024, with Lelê sidelined by an ACL injury, Kemelli briefly regained ground, but Nicole Ramos’s arrival reshaped the pecking order. In 2025 she was third choice, declined a new deal and moved to Fluminense.
She departed with 57 games, 49 wins, five draws and three defeats, plus seven trophies including the 2021 Libertadores and the 2024 Brasileiro.
This season she has 16 outings for Fluminense and is among their standouts. The Rio club sit 11th in the Brasileiro Feminino, four points behind Internacional in eighth, the final quarter-final berth.
