One of the most heavily anticipated fixtures in the Serie A calendar pits Inter against Juventus on Saturday.

Indeed, the latest edition of the famous Derby d’Italia could prove a season-defining game for both teams.

Sitting eight points clear of second-placed AC Milan, Inter are in firm control of their Scudetto fate.

However, Cristian Chivu is still searching for his first high-profile league win in charge of the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Juventus are level on points with fifth-placed Roma and cannot afford a slip-up in Lombardy.

Therefore, both sides will be keen to secure all three points in this clash of titans.

Juventus narrowly edged Inter in September’s reverse fixture, claiming a late 4-3 win at the Allianz Stadium.

Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram and his brother, Khepren, were both on the scoresheet.

Melo, who spent a large chunk of his career in Serie A, believes they could play a prominent role once again.

“Do I miss Italy? Every day,” he confirmed. “I had an amazing time there. It’s always on my mind. I think about Fiorentina, Juve, and Inter.

“I enjoyed my time everywhere, despite the ups and downs.

“And I’ve lived through so many moments; one day I’ll return, and I’ll do it as a coach.”

Speaking about the upcoming derby clash, he said: “Watch out for the two Thuram brothers, just like in the first match.

“They can be even more decisive than Lautaro and Yildiz. And I also like Zielinski; he’s a rare, valuable player.

“Will I ever reconcile with Juve? I have no idea. I do know that Juve fans got upset over my post about Galatasaray after the draw.

“I’ll support Inter and Gala, yes, but the past can’t be erased and always serves as a lesson in life.
