Inter Milan have denied all links following the reported interest in former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.
Italian outlet FCInterNews rubbish the rumours from Spanish outlet Marca.
Yesterday, a report emerged from Spanish outlet Marca suggesting that Inter could make a shock January move for Al-Arabi midfielder Verratti.
Verratti joined Al-Arabi from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
However, it has not been an altogether happy time for the Italian international there. Al-Arabi are currently languishing towards the bottom of the Qatari Stars League table.
Therefore, Verratti reportedly wants out. And a move to Serie A could make sense for the 32-year-old.
Verratti is an Italian international, and came through the youth ranks of Italian team Pescara.
However, despite that, he has never played in Serie A. He made the move to PSG in the summer of 2012 straight from Serie B, and then spent the bulk of his career – more than a decade – in Serie B.
But the prospect of Verratti playing in the Italian top flight could be enticing.
Therefore, the links to Italian champions Inter might make a measure of sense.
However, Verratti’s wages would be a giant obstacle.
Moreover, Inter are already very well-stocked in midfield. They can call upon all of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, Piotr Zielinski, Kristjan Asllani, and Davide Frattesi.
Therefore, FCIN report, there is no truth to the rumours of Inter considering a shock move for Verratti.
