Mamadou Sarr returned from his loan at Strasbourg in January, and could finally get a chance to start in the league this weekend.

Chelsea’s only January arrival could get his second start for the club and his first in the Premier League this weekend, Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail has speculated.

This week’s Chelsea Confidential notes that, with Wesley Fofana suspended following his red card against Burnley, the time might be right for Mamadou Sarr to make his bow. He looked solid enough in the FA Cup game against Hull City two weeks ago, his only start so far.

The Blues have not kept a clean sheet in their last five games. That’s bad enough, but it’s even worse when you realise those games were against Crystal Palace, West Ham, Wolves, Leeds and Burnley. Up next comes Arsenal and Aston Villa. That streak could easily hit 7 or even 10 given the tough run we’ve got.

It’s time for a change, and given Tosin is the alternative, most Chelsea fans would agree that Sarr has earned his chance for a start. He has a nice balance of physical and technical ability, and looks better able to cope with the likes of Viktor Gyokeres than Tosin would be.

Gill also revealed that Rosenior was less than happy after Chelsea’s recent draws, and let loose in the dressing room in a way that hasn’t been seen before.

Matt Law was on the London is Blue podcast this week, and he could barely control his frustration over an ongoing issue the club are having at the moment.
