Millwall are plotting a move for Peterborough United winger Kyrell Lisbie ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, Football League World understands

Millwall have undertaken an action-packed start to the summer transfer window in a bid to avenge last season's play-off semi-final defeat to Hull City and the Lions' business in the market is continuing to motor on with a deal being worked on for one of the EFL's most exciting young starlets, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

Alex Neil's side will be striving to go one better in the 2026/27 campaign after missing out on automatic promotion before losing in the play-offs, and a raft of additions are poised to make their way to The Den this summer.

Millwall have already made three acquisitions in the form of Tairyk Arconte, Jenson Metcalfe and Mathis Servais, with the Lions retaining a forward-thinking transfer policy of exploring continental markets while snapping up talent in the EFL pyramid.

With the likes of Joe Bryan, Wes Harding, Macaulay Langstaff and Danny McNamara having all moved on from East London, the second-tier play-off semi-finalists are plotting a seismic shake-up of Neil's squad and further deals are being eyed up in preparation for the new campaign.

The Lions have, of course, recruited from a variety of European divisions in recent years to land a number of starlets, although they have also set their sights on signings closer to home such as the aforementioned Metcalfe, who will be expected to bolster the side's midfield after arriving off the back of an eye-catching campaign in League One with Bradford City.

Millwall are working on another similar deal in the coming days and weeks, with a 14-goal sensation emerging firmly on the club's radar according to sources.

The player in question is Peterborough United attacker Kyrell Lisbie, who has transpired as a target of firm interest to the Championship promotion hopefuls following an impressive debut season at third-tier level.

Football League World has learned that Lisbie has landed on Millwall's wishlist after catching the eye at London Road over the last twelve months, with the Lions now understood to be plotting a move for the 22-year-old's signature.

The winger joined Peterborough from then-National League outfit Braintree Town last summer and enjoyed an instant impact in League One by registering 11 goals and seven assists from 44 appearances as Luke Williams' side finished in 18th position.

Capable of operating on either flank, there is every chance that Lisbie will be the next cab off the ranks at Peterborough, whose recruitment model and talent production has seen a host of leading talent in the EFL and beyond emerge from the Cambridgeshire-based club in recent years.

Posh will be braced for interest in Lisbie's services and acted shrewdly to tie the wide-man down to a new long-term contract back in April, extending his terms to 2030.

It means that Millwall may well have to stump up a sizable fee to lure Lisbie to East London this summer, with Peterborough known to drive a hard bargain when negotiating the exits of prized assets.

Lisbie, having struck on 14 occasions across all competitions in 25/26, is most certainly one of those right now, and the Lions can only expect to be met with a hardball stance and some significant hurdles to overcome if they decide to amplify their interest with an official bid for the London-born attacker.

Millwall are actively bidding to strengthen their wide options after electing against making Thierno Ballo's loan stint a permanent one at the end of the previous campaign, and they will also face a battle to retain the services of star man Femi Azeez following the sought-after winger's haul of 11 goals and seven assists in the Championship last time out.

With limited strength in depth behind Azeez, alongside a Ballo-shaped hole to fill throughout the summer months, adding at least one - if not more - winger to Neil's ranks is sure to be a top priority for Millwall, with Lisbie being eyed up as a result.
