It is a summer of change at Stade Brestois. Before the end of the season, it was announced that sporting director Grégory Lorenzi would leave the club after 10 years. He has since been nominated Medhi Benatia’s successor at Olympique de Marseille. Lorenzi’s successor at Brest has not been confirmed. The Breton club remain without a figure to lead their transfer window.

There has also been a change in the managerial position after Éric Roy sadly passed away at the age of 58. A member of his backroom staff, Julien Lachuer has been confirmed as his successor.

There are also questions pertaining to the leadership, with owner and president Denis Le Saint confirming that he would be receptive to offers to either buy the club or to purchase a stake. As the project prepares to turn a page, there could also be an overhaul of the squad.

Several players, Get French Football News understands, are candidates to depart. Chief among them is Hugo Magnetti (28), who is attracting interest already. His contract is up in 2027 and he will evaluate his options this summer, with a preference to seek a new challenge.

The same goes for Romain Del Castillo (30). Like Magnetti, his contract is up at the end of next season and he is coming off the back of another very repsectable campaign, during which he registered 13 goal contributions (nine goals, four assists) in 33 games in all competitions. Both Brest players are attracing interest from Ligue 1 rivals, although, as of now, this interest is not yet concrete.
