Virgil van Dijk to stay with Liverpool

Van Dijk’s contract was always seen as the easiest to get done - by fans, anyway. The defender remains arguably the world’s best in his position and showing no great signs of slowing down.

On top of that, his wage demands simply aren’t at the level of Mohamed Salah’s. It’s a more comfortable deal for Liverpool to get done.

And one that, naturally, we’re thrilled about. Van Dijk is the core member of Liverpool’s defence and one of the absolute most important in the team.

His form this season has been such that awards could be flowing come the end of the campaign. He’s adjusted flawlessly to life under Arne Slot, too, and is a massive part of Liverpool’s early success.

And with the good times rolling, Liverpool could be set to offer yet another boost to fans with news of Van Dijk’s new contract.
