Leeds United Under-18s continue their FA Youth Cup adventure with a trip to the west coast to face AFC Fylde Under-18s on Friday evening, in the Fourth Round of the prestigious competition.
The Whites kick started their campaign with a scintillating extra-time victory over Portsmouth at Fratton Park in the Third Round.
Rob Etherington’s side twice led through Jacob Render and Josh McDonald’s close-range finishes, before a late Pompey goal ensured the tie headed to an extra 30-minute period.
Despite then being reduced to 10, United battled and were rewarded with a late winner through Logan White’s clinical strike, before the full-time whistle sounded.
A 3-2 victory away at Curzon Ashton started AFC Fylde’s FA Youth Cup campaign in the Second Qualifying Round, before a 2-0 win over Spennymoor Town saw the Lancashire outfit advance to the First Round Proper.
Doncaster Rovers were then swept aside 3-0 by the Coasters, Northampton Town were beaten on penalties and most recently, in the Third Round, the Mill Lane side edged past Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.
The Whites have pedigree in the competition, lifting the trophy in both 1993 and 1997, and reaching the final in last season’s tournament.
Action from Mill Lane gets underway at 7pm.
Third Round success at Fratton Park!
