Fabinho Soldado says goodbye to Corinthians on social media

This Wednesday (24), former Corinthians football executive Fabinho Soldado posted a video on his social media, officially saying goodbye to the club, one day after his dismissal was confirmed by the board. In the video, he thanks the staff of the Alvinegro, such as athletes and members of the technical staff with whom he worked during the nearly two years he held the position.

Soldado's departure from his role at Corinthians happened despite the support his work had. He was strongly supported by the technical staff and also by the squad. On Monday (22), during the celebration of the Copa do Brasil title at Neo Química Arena, some players, led by defender Gustavo Henrique, started a chant of “Stay, Soldado.” Coach Dorival Júnior had also expressed the same sentiment during the post-match press conference at Maracanã the day before.

However, the same support was not present among the political factions at Parque São Jorge, with some council members questioning the work done compared to his salary, as well as pointing out his connection to the Augusto Melo administration, which was impeached a few months ago. After several weeks of uncertainty, his departure was confirmed, without the payment of a termination fine.

Fabinho Soldado played a key role in signing Memphis in the second half of 2024, in addition to maintaining a good relationship with coach Ramón Díaz, who won the Campeonato Paulista in March, and his successor Dorival Júnior, who lifted the Copa do Brasil trophy last weekend – in fact, his arrival at Parque São Jorge was facilitated by Soldado. “This is Fabinho Soldado. I’m here to thank you, with a heart full of pride and gratitude, for everything I experienced with you, for all the encouragement and all the affection you gave us so that it was possible to win these two trophies.

I especially thank our president, Osmar, for all the support he gave us, and also our coach Dorival Júnior and his technical staff, who helped us pursue the long-dreamed-of title. Special thanks also go to the permanent technical staff at Corinthians, who made this dream possible, and to all the employees who worked daily to make it happen.

I leave here my heartfelt thanks to all of you. And, of course, to the athletes: those with whom, every day, we exchanged so many experiences. It was always a very intense journey. I leave my gratitude here, because you made my dream — and the fans’ dream — come true with these two achievements.

Thank you all and have a great end of the year.”
