Amorim is expected to join United during the upcoming international break, with his first game in charge to come against Ipswich Town on November 24.

The Portuguese manager himself opened up about the recent negotiations between United and Sporting, offering some insight into his future.

“I know they made a trip to come here to talk about this, and it’s natural, but we’ll leave that for the end of the game. At the end of the game, I’ll talk about all these issues,” Amorim stated, referring to Sporting’s match against Estrela Amadora this evening. “Now I want the team to focus and myself too. I promise I’ll talk at the end of the game, and everything will be clearer.”

Still, it appears as if eager United fans will not need to wait that long to hear developments regarding Amorim’s future.

This morning, Fabrizio Romano announced that the deal between United and Sporting for Amorim is all but complete.

“Manchester United and Sporting have prepared all documents for Ruben Amorim’s move to be sealed in the next days,” he posted on X.

“Same on manager side as Amorim will sign at Man Utd until June 2027, as planned. Formal steps to follow soon.”

Excitement regarding Amorim’s impending arrival appears to have already taken hold at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford expressing his eagerness to work with the Portuguese manager.

Diogo Dalot expressed his admiration for Amorim, while Bruno Fernandes appears to be thrilled to welcome his countryman to Old Trafford.

Given the 39 year old’s impeccable record at Sporting as well as his relative youth, it comes as no surprise that Amorim has been a frontrunner in the race to replace Erik ten Hag.

The excitement surrounding Amorim’s potential arrival at United is clearly understandable as the club prepares to enter an exciting new era.
