One elite Liverpool star now looks certain to stay. Fabrizio Romano has practically confirmed it.

Liverpool have already lost three key players heading into next season. Ibrahima Konate opted not to renew his contract at Anfield, following Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson through the exit door.

There have long been rumours that another legend would leave, though: Alisson Becker. He's been heavily linked with a cut-price move to Juventus.

The Brazilian's contract will expire next summer, making this the final time Liverpool can truly get a fee for him. Reports actually went as far as claiming that Alisson had accepted a contract with Juve, setting the stage for a high-profile sale.

However, that one now appears to be completely off. Fabrizio Romano has all but confirmed it, claiming that Juventus are now targeting the likes of Emiliano Martinez in their hunt for a new goalkeeper.

It tallies with reports that Alisson has indeed decided to remain at Anfield. It seems he'll commit at least his short-term future to Liverpool and while it may prove to be his final season with the Reds, that's one more than we seemed to be getting a few weeks ago.

Alisson Becker: Situation Summary

Liverpool Campaign and Status

As of 9 June 2026, Alisson Becker remains a Liverpool player. The 33-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper, a cornerstone of the club since 2018, saw his contract extended until June 2027 in March 2026 after the club triggered a one-year option. Despite this, his long-term future at Anfield has been the subject of persistent speculation throughout the spring. While Italian media outlets have frequently linked the goalkeeper with a high-profile move to Juventus, and there has been external uncertainty regarding his position, reports from representatives close to the player have consistently maintained that he remains happy at the club and is focused on his future at Anfield.

International Duty and 2026/27 Outlook

Alisson is currently focused on international commitments, having been named in Brazil's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup. He is set to be a key figure for the Seleção in their opening Group C campaign. Following the tournament, he is expected to return to Merseyside for the 2026/27 season as the club navigates a period of significant squad transition under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
