RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain during last summer’s transfer window as the club searched for a dependable goal scorer after Kylian Mbappé’s exit.
If PSG decides to pursue the talented Slovenian forward, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the competition they’ll face in this transfer race.
Šeško, who is under contract with Leipzig until 2029 and valued between €70 million and €75 million, had an impressive 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and providing two assists in 42 appearances.
Although PSG explored various striker options, sporting advisor Luis Campos ultimately opted not to bring in a new No. 9.
Šeško has maintained his strong form in the 2024-25 season, scoring 14 goals and adding three assists in 29 matches across all competitions.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, shared that Leipzig might be open to letting Sesko leave in the summer after initially being hesitant to sell their star striker in January.
“Very clear message internally from Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, who really wanted to keep Benjamin Šeško at RB Leipzig for January, and in the summer, the feeling is completely different,” Romano said (h/t GIVE ME SPORT).
“The understanding is that in the summer, there will be a chance for Benjamin Sesko to try something new, something different, and so Arsenal will be there for sure.
“He’s one of the top strikers in the list at Arsenal, also appreciated by other clubs, including Chelsea. But now Arsenal keep contacts active because they believe that Benjamin Sesko could be an absolute strong and top candidate for the striker position from next season.
“So he’s scoring goals, he’s providing assists and Arsenal keep following the development of the player.”
