One Chelsea player has admitted to a very ‘chaotic’ moment in the summer transfer window that wasn’t a great look.

There was a lot going on in the summer transfer window at the time and the end to the window got especially busy and crazy for Chelsea as they looked to tie up a number of deals.

It was made even more crazy when new signing Liam Delap got injured and Chelsea were suddenly without their main number 9 option for a long period of time as he nurses that injury.

Chelsea needed a striker but they were loaning out Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich. At that time though, they stalled the move as they looked at their options. But Jackson wanted to go to Bayern and pushed the move through whilst Chelsea decided to recall Marc Guiu from a loan move at Sunderland where he had played just a few games instead.

Guiu spoke on this period over the weekend:

“We initially decided to go to Sunderland with great enthusiasm and excitement to get some minutes in the top flight and get some experience. In the end, there was an injury [to Delap], and I had to return to Chelsea, now with great enthusiasm and training hard every day.

“In the end, it was all a bit chaotic, but in the end, I’m a person who faces everything with the utmost positivity. And that’s how I faced it, now enjoying every moment, because a footballer’s career is short. And that’s what I’m doing, enjoying every moment that life gives me.”

Some Chelsea legends returned to the Stamford Bridge pitch on Saturday afternoon for a game against Liverpool legends. Eden Hazard was spotted showing off in the warm ups, and Diego Costa was back to his old ways!

Chelsea will likely be ‘lurking’ in case there is an opportunity to sign defender Dayot Upamecano from Bayern Munich in the summer.
