Famalicão’s Ibrahima Ba to reject Benfica move to join Strasbourg | OneFootball

FC Famalicão’s Ibrahima Ba (21) has reportedly turned down an offer from SL Benfica to join RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to Record.

Having been tipped to join the Lisbon club, the Senegalese defender has ultimately decided to head to France, where he will continue his development under his former manager Hugo Oliveira, who was recently appointed as RCSA’s new manager.

Famalicão, where the Boune-born player has made 27 appearances (one goal, one assist) since his arrival in the summer of 2024, are set to receive a fee of €20m and retain 15 per cent of any future transfer fee for Ba, whose contract runs until 2030.

The move is a major blow for O Glorioso and their manager Marco Silva, who had hoped to make the former Valenciennes FC player a key asset for the coming season, as they seek to further strengthen their defence following the departures of Nicolás Otamendi (38) and António Silva (22), who is set to join AFC Bournemouth.
