FC Barcelona: Hansi Flick backs Xavi Espart

Jules Koundé has picked up an injury and will be sidelined for several days with FC Barcelona. Hansi Flick may have already found his replacement in Xavi Espart.

Speaking at a press conference this Friday, Hansi Flick didn't hold back his praise, comparing Espart to none other than Philipp Lahm. "I really appreciate his composure on the ball. He has qualities reminiscent of Philipp Lahm; he can play as a defensive midfielder or full-back and is comfortable both on and off the ball. On top of that, he's in great physical shape and is left-footed, which allows him to adapt to several positions," said the coach.

Another rising star: Alvaro Cortes. Flick also had kind words for him: "Álvaro is also training well. Xavi is just coming back from injury, but he's already showing a good level. They've all shown quality and I'm really looking forward to seeing them play."
