Could Lionel Messi be making a return to Barça soon? That might just happen—if Victor Font wins the next FC Barcelona presidential election. The candidate, running against Joan Laporta, dreams of seeing the Argentine forward enjoy one last dance in Catalonia.

"We need to embrace Lionel Messi and do everything possible so that, as soon as possible, he has the role at Barça that he wants to have, as he said last week, and which would make all of us Barça supporters happy. Erecting a statue for him would be nowhere near enough. Personally, as a Barça fan, it would give me goosebumps to see him finish his career here, but of course, it's up to him and we must never try to use him. I believe Joan Laporta has done that, on several occasions, and I think he was wrong—especially the last time, which was blatant during the elections. That's another example of an unkept promise, and I believe Messi shouldn't be used, but he needs to know the very first thing I will do when I win the elections is pick up the phone and call him. That will be my first phone call," Font told Mundo Deportivo in an interview.
