FC Porto and Sporting fined over €38,000 after 1-1 clássico

The FC Porto-Sporting clássico ended 1-1 and has led to fines exceeding €38,000, with €32,959 for Porto and €5,098 for Sporting.
According to O Jogo, Porto’s SAD were fined €10,200 for objects thrown, including flag poles, cups, lighters and bottles, towards Hjulmand and Sporting’s bench without affecting play.
Further sanctions included €8,925 for pyrotechnics, two separate €6,375 penalties for unauthorised items such as banners, including one aimed at Sporting president Frederico Varandas, and for invasions and collective disorder, plus €1,084 for insulting chants.
Lino Godinho, assistant to Francesco Farioli, received a one-match ban and a €3,190 fine after being sent off for protests and provocative conduct. Francisco Moura was banned for one match for a fifth yellow and fined €153, while Deniz Gul and Froholdt were fined €77 for second yellows.
Sporting were fined €4,460 for pyrotechnics, involving an incandescent flare, and €638 for improper conduct of supporters with insulting chants.
Fernando Morato, assistant to Rui Borges, was sent off for provocatory and inflammatory behaviour, then handed a one-match suspension and a €3,060 fine. Luis Suárez must serve a one-match ban for a fifth booking, plus a €153 fine. Maxi Araújo and Hjulmand were fined €102 for sixth cautions, with Morita and Diomande punished €77 for their second and third cards.
