FC Porto have filed a formal request with Liga Portugal seeking clarification over the postponement of Sporting-Tondela, the 26th-round fixture that is still without a date. According to O Jogo, the club allege the delay breaches competition regulations.

League rules state that second-half fixtures moved from their original slot should be played in the same week, or within the following two weeks if a club has domestic or UEFA or FIFA commitments, or if the national team are playing and players are called up.

They also allow an extension to four weeks if the game is not within the final six rounds and the Permanent Calendar Commission approves.

That timeframe could be unworkable for Sporting because they have reached the Champions League quarter-finals and must meet minimum rest periods between matches.

Porto are seeking the reasons for the postponement at a crucial stage of the season.
