FEDERICO BERNARDESCHI JOINS BOLOGNA | OneFootball

Bologna FC 1909 announces the permanent signing of Federico Bernardeschi.

Born in 1994, Bernardeschi is naturally left-footed with strong technical ability, capable of playing in a variety of roles, including attacking midfielder, winger, and wide midfielder. Known for his dribbling skills, quick feet, and close control, he also possesses a powerful long-range shot and is considered one of the most talented players of his generation.

Bernardeschi began his career at Atletico Carrara before moving on to Polisportiva Ponzano and eventually joining Fiorentina’s youth academy. He returned to Florence after a loan spell in Serie B with Crotone. The highlight of his Serie A campaigns was the 2016/17 season with Fiorentina, where he scored eleven goals, earning Juventus’ attention. He went on to spend five seasons in Turin before moving to Toronto FC in 2022. In the MLS, he became the Canadian club’s all-time top scorer in league matches, recording 25 goals, at least five more than any other teammate.

His list of achievements includes three Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, and one Italian Super Cup. On 11 July 2021, he was also part of the Italy side that won the UEFA European Championship, defeating England in the final on penalties.
