Fenerbahce are pushing to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, with talks under way and a face-to-face between club president Sadettin Saran and the player yielding a “principal agreement”, TRT Spor reports.
The Istanbul club have also opened discussions with Dortmund, and Guirassy’s representatives are said to believe BVB could lower their valuation of the 30-year-old.
Guirassy is contracted until 2028, yet Sky Sport claims he has already decided to move this summer. Real Madrid and Manchester City could trigger his €40 million release clause but have not made a formal approach, while Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan are monitoring.
Sporting director Lars Ricken is upbeat after Dortmund ended the Bundesliga with a 2-0 win at Werder Bremen, closing out with three wins from four. He said the manner of those results, plus extensions for young players, has built anticipation for next season.
Ricken backed head coach Niko Kovac, who is reportedly set to extend a contract that runs to 2027. He noted Dortmund were 11th when Kovac arrived and finished second, eight points clear of RB Leipzig, and now want to take further steps.
Ole Book called it the club’s best campaign in years, pointing to a mean defence with the fewest goals conceded and progress in attack. He added that the deserved victory capped a strong season and planning for the next one is already advanced.
