According to Voetbal International’s Martijn Krabbendam, Calvin Stengs could leave Feyenoord this summer. Leicester City and Pisa have reportedly made inquiries for the creative midfielder, who barely features in head coach Robin van Persie’s plans.
Stengs hasn’t yet played for Feyenoord this season, with Van Persie so far preferring other options. With his run at De Kuip seemingly coming to an end, his departure is in the best interest of both parties.
Leicester City, relegated from the Premier League last season, and Pisa, recently promoted to Serie A, have expressed concrete interest in the 26-year-old midfielder. The two new clubs join Celtic in their pursuit of Stengs.
Interestingly, the Amstelveen-born player could have left Rotterdam last year, but a transfer to Charlotte FC in the MLS fell through because he failed his medical.
So far in his Feyenoord career, Stengs has featured 59 times in all competitions and scored nine since his transfer from OGC Nice in 2023-24. Previously, the eight-cap Oranje man has also turned out for AZ Alkmaar, where he came through the ranks, and Royal Antwerp on loan.
