The French Football Federation has finalised a 30-year agreement with GL Events to operate the Stade de France, ensuring Les Bleus return to Saint-Denis.
The federation and GL Events said in a joint statement on Friday that the contract forms part of the state’s new concession granted to GL Events in June 2025. The agreement confirms France will host Italy on 2 October in the Nations League, marking their homecoming this autumn.
The stadium’s operation will unfold in two stages. During modernisation and renovation from 2027 to 2030, estimated at €120 million, the venue will remain open. The FFF can schedule France games and Coupe de France finals subject to availability, opportunity and the progress of works.
From January 2031 through 2055, the revamped arena will stage at least three France fixtures per year on average, the six best matches every two-year cycle, plus the Coupe de France final each season.
FFF president Philippe Diallo said the agreement marks a new era, adding it enhances the team’s visibility and creates a fresh revenue stream to support French football. GL Events chairman Olivier Ginon welcomed the start of a partnership they want to be fruitful and durable.
