According to O Jogo, Polish centre-back Jakub Kiwior’s permanent move to Porto is considered a formality to be completed by 31 May via a 17 million euros clause, and FIFA’s bridge-transfer rule would not prevent a summer sale.
The FIFA regulation targets back-to-back deals within 16 weeks that are linked and use an intermediary club’s registration to bypass rules or defraud another party.
In Kiwior’s case, a straightforward sporting sale by Porto to a major suitor would not meet that threshold, and he has already moved on loan from Arsenal to Porto.
As a result, a permanent signing followed by a transfer in the summer would not automatically set off FIFA alarms or oblige the clubs to explain themselves to the Disciplinary Committee.
