FIFA has opened the final ticket phase for the 2026 World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July, and hopes to set a record for ticket sales.
FIFA said in a statement that the fourth window began at 17:00 French time on Wednesday on the official site. More than three million tickets are included, and sales are first come, first served until the end of the competition.
Nearly seven million tickets are available across the tournament based on capacities at 16 venues. More than three million were sold in the first three phases. The body expects to surpass the 3.5 million record set in 1994.
Ticketing has been contentious, with the federation accused of charging exorbitant prices despite pledges made when the United States, Mexico and Canada were awarded hosting rights. On 24 March, Football Supporters Europe and Euroconsumers lodged a complaint with the European Commission alleging abuse of a dominant position.
Gianni Infantino has defended pricing, arguing demand has been extraordinary. In December, a $60 category was introduced for official supporters’ clubs. The official resale and exchange platform, which has also drawn criticism over high prices, reopens on Thursday.
