According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo dismissed Filipe Luís around one in the morning on Tuesday 03 and are close to appointing Leonardo Jardim as head coach, with backroom plans already taking shape.

Filipe Luís waited until the evening to address his exit, posting a heartfelt message on social media.

He reflected on nearly seven years at the club, citing nine trophies as a player and five as a coach. He thanked the board for their trust, praised his players as dedicated champions and said he leaves at peace, describing their cycle as historic. He also hailed the supporters as the soul of the club.

Jardim is set to arrive with his own staff. António Vieira, José Barros and Diogo Dias will work as assistants. A new fitness coach is still to be agreed between Jardim and the club.

The departure landed heavily in the dressing room, with many players showing support for Filipe Luís. Defender Danilo liked a post that strongly criticised Jardim, reflecting tensions around the change.
