On Monday, Flamengo extended head coach Filipe Luis’s contract to the end of 2027.
According to Globo, he previously had the lowest salary among Brazil’s top-flight coaches and wants to work in Europe, but now is not viewed as the right time to move. The report added he turned down interest from Fenerbahçe in Türkiye.

Flamengo have granted a significant pay rise to keep the 40-year-old. He led them to the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian league titles this year.
Since his arrival, he has collected five trophies in fifteen months.
The renewal concludes a protracted saga that dominated Brazilian media in recent weeks.
