Edoardo Bove is out of the woods, although it’s uncertain what caused him to go into cardiac arrest during Sunday’s match versus Inter at this point. He’s recovering at the Careggi hospital. Fiorentina issued an update on his status.
“After spending a serene night, Bove was awakened and extubated this morning. He’s vigil and oriented. He spoke with his family, the Viola brass, the coach, and his teammate who rushed to visit him as soon as they received the good news. He’ll undergo more tests in the coming days to determine the cause of Sunday’s critical situation.”
Fiorentina CEO Alessandro Ferrari spoke to Sky after meeting the player.
“Bove managed to talk with his teammates and convinced them to play the Coppa Italia game on Wednesday. Therefore, we’ll go on the pitch we’re chomping at the bit to resume living, also thanks to the enthusiasm he conveyed. We’re a lot happier and relaxed. We spoke with him, and he’s lucid, with his usual desire to laugh and joke around. He obviously needs to be monitored, which will continue in the next few days, but he’s fine.”
Bove thanked those who helped him on the pitch and prayed for him since the incident. A previous statement indicated that he didn’t sustain acute cardiac, neurological, and respiratory damage. According to Ansa, he was revived in the ambulance on the way to the hospital on Sunday and was then pharmacologically sedated up till Monday morning.
