Fiorentina reach Alex Jimenez agreement with Bournemouth | OneFootball

Fiorentina have agreed a deal with Bournemouth to sign right-back Alex Jimenez on loan with an option to buy. The option is €30 million and includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause if a future sale follows a permanent move.

He joined Bournemouth from Milan last summer on an initial loan with an obligation to buy. Sources briefed on that agreement said Bournemouth would pay €19.5 million plus up to €5 million in add-ons, with Milan due the first €5 million and 50 per cent of the rest, and Real Madrid the other half.

The 21-year-old has not played since 8 May, when Bournemouth opened an investigation into social media posts purportedly showing him messaging an underage girl.

The posts appeared to show discussions about meeting, and during the alleged exchange the female says she is 15. He was left out of the squad to face Fulham on 9 May, and the club have not provided an update since.

Jimenez also missed Bournemouth’s final two matches, 1-1 draws with Manchester City and Nottingham Forest. He had featured in all but one league game before the probe.

A Real Madrid academy product, he moved to Milan’s youth setup in 2023 and made 34 first-team appearances. He has been capped by Spain up to under-21 level.

Fiorentina finished 15th in Serie A last season. Fabio Grosso took charge in June, and Fabio Paratici became sporting director in February after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
